Boise Tower/Boise Place/Boise’s Hole
The saga on the corner of 8th and Main in downtown Boise continues. What was to be Boise’s tallest building in the early 2000s has become the northwest’s most infamous hole. The Idaho Statesman gives us a great time line in their article on the recent bankruptcy filings of the Boise Hole Place developer. Can you believe they (the original developer, not the latest one) signed a development agreement ten years ago?
Eventually, it will be built, but at this rate I don’t know how they’ll ever secure funding from a lender or deposits from future condo buyers. I know I’d be hesitant to pay a reservation fee to secure a condo in the Boise Place. And as far as I know, most condo projects rely on those deposits to get a project off the ground.
