The Aspen Lofts’ Crane
The skyline here in downtown Boise doesn’t change much, so when a new ten-story crane appears on Front Street, it’s hard to miss. The Aspen Lofts, a 17-story condominium development in downtown Boise, has finished construction of the various underground and ground level structures and they are moving towards the sky. The crane, from Inland Crane, stands a little over 100 feet above Boise’s streets and will hopefully speed up the building of the Aspen Lofts.
For those of you living in larger cities (especially those in Las Vegas), this sight may be nothing special. Another crane, so what? But in our little city they don’t go up very often. And with all the bad news about the Boise Tower…Boise Hole…Boise Place…Boise Hole, it is nice to see a tall condo project get off the ground, so to speak.

Ive seen some renderings of the building, i think its a step up in boise architecture but i dont think theres anything too special about it, and i could have made something better (not trying to be arrogant), and im an arch. student. oh well its still an overall plus for boise.. and i guess a minus for the environment seeing as how its all glass that faces south i believe (havent been yet (mighty high air conditioning costs)
This is an amazing building! Boise needs something like this for it’s skyline. Major kudos to the developer. Any architect with real-world experience would know that this is not a “simple” structure; just look at the footprint. Plus, it’s a definite step in the right direction for the environment. The all-glass side is facing North, the amount of commuters this building keeps off the roads, and the economic “shot in the arm” that these residents will supply the local downtown businesses with is nothing but positive! Boise needs more buildings like this!!
